ROLEX GMT Master Ref. 1675 Gilt Gloss Mirror Dial Full Set (1966)

The word Rare is one often overused in the collectible watch circle - this however, is indeed an exciting and rare opportunity indeed.

Purchased new by the previous sole owner, Officer Peter Graham of Shell Tankers Ltd of London, on March 3rd 1966 from Sarneki Brothers Inernational, Rotterdam, Holland - this 1966 Gilt Gloss Mirror Dial Rolex GMT Ref. 1675 remained in the aforementioned collection until I had the privilege to acquire it this year -  replete with Chronometre Certificate (stamped 15 September 1965), guarantee, booklet, cigarette card, purchase cheque (for the princely sum of £67), import certificate (dated 3/3/66), on-board tax receipt (dated 3/3/66), coffin box, spare insert (fitted during Rolex 2010 service), and original 7836 folded oyster bracelet with 358 endlinks.

The watch accompanied Officer Graham from Alaska to the Persian Gulf, with stints in the Vietnam and Iran War, with further seaborne expeditions within the Shell Fleet to the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. A well travelled travel watch.

This then, is indubitably a rare opportunity to own a complete set of horological history.

Comes fitted on a Rolex USA Jubilee bracelet stamped 11 72, with 55 endlinks - large and will fit wrists up to 22 cm

During the 2010 Rolex Service, hands were relumed, so I have had the minute and hour hand professionally relumed this year with correct fast fade to match the original small triangle GMT hand and original and untouched dial

Gilt dial is lustrous and has a deep mirror shine, with just a small area of crazing below the date window

The watch is currently running strong and keeping exceptional time having last been serviced in 2020 (service card included)
